IPL – long-lasting hair removal with Beurer
Long-lasting hair removal with powerful IPL light technology
IPL stands for "Intense Pulsed Light" and is based on modern light technology. During use, the IPL devices send light pulses to the hair roots. The melanin – the pigment in the hair – absorbs the light and a chemical reaction in the body converts it into heat. The heat generated deactivates the hair roots deep in the skin. The process causes the hair to fall out and it does not grow back for a long time. The result is long-lasting hair removal and silky smooth, hair-free skin. Several treatments are usually required to reach all hairs. Before use, it is also advisable to shave the area of the body being treated so that the light reaches the hair roots more easily.

In the comfort of your own home – gently and safely
Beurer IPL devices remove hair gently, reliably, and lastingly. The devices fit comfortably in the hand and part of the IPL range is mains-free. Precision attachments allow you to reach any part of your body.
The technology is dermatologically approved and clinically tested. Beurer IPL devices also have a professionally adjusted safety system with an integrated UV filter and a 2-in-1 skin type and skin contact sensor. This ensures that light pulses are only emitted if the skin pigmentation permits and if the light area has sufficient skin contact.

What is IPL?
IPL stands for "Intense Pulsed Light". This light is emitted by the IPL device and selectively targets the melanin in the hair follicles which then absorbs the light. The heat generated by the concentrated energy deactivates the hair roots deep in the skin. The hair falls out then stops growing (for a longer period of time). This modern light technology is also used by dermatologists for professional hair removal. Beurer now also makes long-term hair removal possible in the comfort of your own home.
What should I pay attention to while using the device?
Treatable body parts
The devices are suitable for use on the legs, armpits, bikini line, chest, stomach, back and face. However, it should only be used on the face for women, and only below the cheekbones.
Skin type determination
It is important to check in advance whether IPL treatment is actually possible for your skin tone. The method is basically ineffective on red and grey hair and on naturally dark skin. The device should not be used on tattooed areas of the skin.

Number of applications
To completely deactivate all the hair roots, the treatment must be carried out several times during the first four months. Six applications are suggested: the first three threatments two weeks apart, and the next three treatments four weeks apart. This depends, however, on the model used. You can put together a more precise application plan with a reminder function tailored to your skin type in the "beurer myIPL" app.
Getting ready to use the device
The hair should be removed before each use. Anyone who shaves should do so directly before treatment; anyone who epilates or waxes should plan one to two days ahead.
Use annually for radiant skin in the summer
Since the hair begins to grow again after a few months, repeated application is advisable. To avoid being bothered by hair in the summer, repeat the treatment every year in the winter.
