BM 51 easyClip – An innovative kind of cuff
According to the German Hypertension Society, high blood pressure is the leading risk factor for cardiovascular diseases. In Germany, roughly one in three adults experiences hypertension – amongst those over 70, this is actually three in four people. A particular difficulty is that hypertension is generally not recognisable through specific symptoms – which is why high blood pressure is often described as the "silent killer". With the BM 51 easyClip, Beurer is launching a new upper arm blood pressure monitor which features an innovative cuff and is particularly easy to use.
Beurer invests in start-up PKvitality for a revolutionary type of blood glucose measurement
According to the Diabetes Atlas of the "International Diabetes Federation", there are currently 7.5 million people with diabetes mellitus living in Germany. Diabetics need to keep an eye on their blood glucose levels at all times. Up until now, monitoring has been associated with frequently pricking the skin and taking blood drops, usually from the fingertip. This is to change with the new K'Watch from PKvitality. The innovative smartwatch continuously monitors blood glucose levels in a discreet way without needing a single drop of blood. Beurer is collaborating with the French start-up and is investing two million euros in this revolutionary type of blood glucose measurement.
Breathe easy: Beurer collaborates with the start-up LungPass
If you look at the top 4 most common causes of death, two are conditions attributable to the lungs: chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and infections in the lower airways. They affect hundreds of millions of people across the globe, most notably children and elderly. Health and social outcomes could be significantly improved by changing status quo – delays in diagnosis leading to preventable hospitalizations. The start-up LungPass, headquartered across Minsk and Tallinn, has worked together with renowned pulmonologists to develop a digital stethoscope with an app. This innovation records, analyses and tracks lung sounds and respiratory symptoms over time, meaning it can flag up conditions at an early stage for most efficient intervention. As a healthcare specialist, Beurer is providing support as a cooperation partner and investor.

Beurer acquires fitness technology provider Antelope
Ulm-based health specialist Beurer has acquired the Frankfurt-based fitness start-up Antelope. Antelope is known for its performance-enhancing sportswear with integrated electrodes for mobile electrostimulation. As a manufacturer of electrostimulation devices, Beurer GmbH brings a great deal of expertise and experience to the collaboration. In the future, new products in the area of fitness and performance enhancement will be developed together.

As a strategic investor and health specialist Beurer has partnered with Colorimetrix. The Munich-based start-up company has developed a system to help women track their hormones at home, understand their cycle and help them get pregnant faster. Pearl Fertility consist on a mobile app powered by the Colorimetrix technology and a testing kit "Pearl by Beurer". The kit allows women wishing to have children to track their hormones, anticipate ovulation and find the clinically proven fertile days. Beurer provides support with procurement, distribution and marketing. The product is expected to come onto Beurer's distribution channels in early 2020, under the name OT 80 "Pearl by Beurer".
MEDICA 2019: maremed® – Stay healthy at home, just like at the seaside
Beurer is presenting its new sea air simulator, the maremed®, at MEDICA in Düsseldorf from 18 to 21 November 2019. The device enriches the air by atomising sea salt.
