Beurer brushes its way to the top: Sonic Toothbrush SC 50 receives German Innovation Award 2026

Innovative dental care that even convinced the expert jury: The Sonic Toothbrush SC 50 Green Planet from Beurer has been named a "Winner" in the Excellence in Business to Consumer - Beauty & Care category at the German Innovation Award 2026. The award honours products that make a difference to everyday routine with innovative solutions.

The Sonic Toothbrush SC 50 brings a breath of fresh air to the bathroom with stylish colours, modern technology and sustainable materials. It was this concept that convinced the jury of independent, interdisciplinary experts, securing the honour of "Winner". "We are delighted to receive the German Innovation Award 2026, as it recognises the innovative power of our sustainably produced sonic toothbrush," says Luisa Fahney, product manager responsible for the sonic toothbrush SC 50.

Award for innovative sonic toothbrush

Environmental awareness shaped the development of the innovative SC 50. The handle and brush head housing – apart from the LED ring and display – are made from 100% recycled materials, while the bristles are made from renewable raw materials. The fine fibres generate up to 80,000 oscillations per minute, enabling particularly gentle and effective cleaning – even in hard-to-reach areas. The SC 50 is also characterised by a powerful battery with up to 22 days of use and an integrated pressure sensor to protect teeth and gums. An intelligent LCD, a 2-minute timer, a 30-second quadrant timer and five cleaning programmes are also included.

The expert jury assessed the entries according to the criteria of level of innovation, user benefit and economic efficiency, as well as aspects such as social, ecological and economic sustainability and the use of energy and resources. For Lutz Dietzold, Managing Director of

the German Design Council, which presents the award, it is clear: "Innovations are the driving force behind progress and future viability. They bring new answers to complex challenges and create real benefits for people, markets and society. With the German Innovation Award, we give these ideas visibility and foster an exchange about effective, pioneering solutions."

One of these solutions is the SC 50: Its award as a "Winner" not only confirms the innovative concept of the sonic toothbrush, but also Beurer's commitment to meaningfully combining modern technology and sustainability.
