Beurer kitchen scale is test winner in “Süddeutsche Zeitung”

The KS 34 XL Black Kitchen Scale from Beurer is an ideal companion when cooking and baking – this has now also been confirmed by its victory in the comparison test conducted by the renowned "Süddeutsche Zeitung" on 21 March 2026.

On behalf of the "SZ", master confectioner Merve Colak tested seven kitchen scales from different manufacturers. The evaluation was based on the criteria of function, handling, number of units of measurement, maximum weighing capacity, appearance and price. The result is clear: the KS 34 XL Black received the highest score with 10 out of 10 points, thus securing first place in the comparison.

"This scale appeals to me the most visually," is how the master confectioner describes the simple, black glass design of the KS 34 XL Black. Particularly positive in the test is the high maximum load capacity of 15 kilograms. For the tester, a clear advantage: "This scale is ideal for baking cakes. I could even use it in the bakery."

Furthermore, Merve Colak highlights the hold function, which allows the weight to continue to be displayed even after the item has been removed from the scale. In addition, the unit can be changed at the touch of a button and a tare function is also integrated.

Top rating in practical test by a master confectioner

For the "Süddeutsche Zeitung", the master confectioner draws a clear conclusion: "The model can weigh a lot, looks stylish and has good value for money, which is why it is my test winner."

The result shows that the KS 34 XL Black, as a high-performance kitchen scale, meets even the requirements of a demanding professional and is therefore the perfect tool for everyday cooking and baking. The test is also available online at sueddeutsche.de (in German).
