IPL

Yes. In clinical tests performed by doctors, it was proven that the technology in beurer IPL devices can be used to safely achieve lasting hair removal results.

Beurer IPL devices were designed for hair removal all over the body. The most common areas that are treated are the legs, armpits, arms, bikini zone and the face below the cheekbones.

Our products are developed with a strong focus on your safety and employ clinically tested technology. However, this device – like any other product or electronic device intended for application on the skin – must be used in accordance with the instructions for use and the safety notes for users.

When used correctly, most users report a slight warm feeling when the light pulse is issued. beurer IPL devices have individually adjustable energy levels, which you can select depending on the sensitivity of your skin.

Body treatment:

Just 3-4 treatments can achieve a hair reduction of up to 50 %. For body treatments, you can achieve the best results with 4 treatments carried out every 2 weeks, followed by 3 treatments carried out every 4 weeks. The treatment can then be repeated as required.

Facial treatment:

Beurer IPL devices are most effective on dark hair types or on hair with a high melanin content. Melanin is the pigment that gives hair and skin its colour and absorbs light energy. Black and dark brown hair shows the best response. Brown and light brown hair also responds to treatment, but it usually requires more hair removal sessions. A limited effect can be seen on red hair.

White, grey or blond hair does not usually respond to a light-based hair removal method, although several users have noticed results after multiple hair removal sessions.

Do not use beurer IPL devices on naturally dark skin!

Treating dark skin with a light-based hair removal procedure can have adverse consequences, such as burns, blisters or discolouration of the skin (hyper- or hypopigmentation). beurer IPL devices feature an integrated skin colour sensor, which measures the colour of the treated skin at the beginning of every treatment session and occasionally during the session itself. The skin colour sensor prevents the device from issuing further pulses if it detects that the device is being used on skin that is too dark.

The results of light-based hair removal are not immediately visible. Hair grows in three different stages and IPL devices only have an effect on the hairs in the active growth phase. Therefore, several sessions are required to achieve the desired result.

Yes, the device can be used by men as well as women. However, men's hair – typically on the chest – will require more hair removal sessions than women do to achieve the desired results. The device cannot be used on men's faces.

There is currently no known damage caused to skin due to long-term usage of light-based hair removal devices.

Yes, women can use beurer IPL devices to treat hair on the face below the cheekbones. When using on the face, it is important to avoid the area around the eyes. IPL devices must not be used around or on the eyes under any circumstances.
