Keep an eye on your oxygen saturation and pulse using the PO 35 and PO 45 Pulse oximeters
Mountaineers, amateur pilots and alpine athletes know this only too well – with each metre of altitude gained, the air becomes thinner, with less oxygen. Each day, the human body needs oxygen to keep the cells in the body alive. A healthy person has oxygen saturation between 94 and 99 percent. The oxygen content in your blood may fall due to sport at altitude, or also due to illness or the effect of medication. Your vital signs should therefore be monitored regularly. Beurer is offering two new pulse oximeters to determine oxygen saturation and pulse.
Oxygen saturation indicates the percentage of haemoglobin (the "transport substance" of the red blood cells) in the arterial blood that is loaded with oxygen. Through this, the organs are supplied with oxygen via the bloodstream. Alongside athletes, at-risk patients suffering from heart failure, asthma, chronic lung disease or sleep apnoea, for example, should regularly measure their oxygen saturation and pulse in order to detect a deficiency in good time.
Measure oxygen saturation any time and anywhere
Using the new PO 35 and PO 45 Pulse oximeters from Beurer, arterial oxygen saturation (SpO2) and heart rate (pulse) can be checked very easily, painlessly and without having to take a blood sample. The PO 45 also determines the perfusion index (PI) – the blood flow value of the finger. A low PI can affect the measurement result. The modern measuring method of the devices is based on two light sources of different wavelengths to determine the relevant values. They are also very easy to operate using the "finger-in-finger-out" measuring principle. These small and lightweight products are ideal for use at home or on the move, during sport, when travelling and at the doctor's. The PO 35 and PO 45 have an easy-to-read colour display with adjustable display brightness, graphical pulse display, as well as automatic switch-off and low battery indicator. With the PO 35, the display is automatically aligned to portrait or landscape format. This means that all values can be easily determined at all times. The PO 45 has an additional symbol display in the event of an unstable measurement and thus informs the user if a repeat measurement is necessary. Both devices are medical devices and come with a strap and a belt pouch.
