Beurer SC 50 is the price-performance winner in the “stern” sonic toothbrush test

The SC 50 Green Planet sonic toothbrush from Beurer has been named the price-performance winner in the "stern" sonic toothbrush test (article in German). The convincing cleaning performance, good usability and affordable replacement brush heads were highlighted positively.

In the test published on 16 February 2026 on stern.de, five sonic toothbrush models are compared. With the SC 50, the tester particularly emphasises the focus on sustainability through the use of recycled materials and renewable raw materials. The sonic toothbrush feels high-quality in the hand, offers "an astonishing 80,000 vibrations per minute and five programmes: Clean, Sensitive, Polish, Gum Care and Whiten" as well as a display and a pressure sensor.

Praise for good usability

Despite the many functions, the operation remains uncomplicated and intuitive thanks to a central button, according to the stern test. The display indications "for brushing time, modes and battery status were actually used regularly in our everyday routine," the test report states. The tester rates the cleaning performance as convincing: "After brushing, the teeth feel noticeably smoother and cleaner."

The battery life of the SC 50 also impressed in the stern test: "Typically, one charge easily lasts for several weeks, making the brush suitable for travel without having to constantly think about the charger."

The SC 50 Green Planet qualifies for the price-performance victory in the "stern" sonic toothbrush test, among other things, due to its convincing cleaning performance, range of functions with easy-to-read display, several modes and pressure sensor, "at a significantly lower price than the competition".
