You can actively help to prevent waste by observing the following information:
Always handle batteries according to the manufacturer's instructions in order to prolong their service life and prevent unnecessary waste.
Important notes on disposal:
Batteries must not be disposed of with household waste as they may contain toxic heavy metals and are considered hazardous waste. For disposal, go to a designated collection or recycling point in your country. This is the only way to ensure that the contained materials will be handled and recycled properly.
How to handle defective batteries safely:
Dispose of damaged or drained batteries immediately. When handling batteries that have leaked, it is essential to wear protective gloves. If your skin or eyes come into contact with fluid from a battery, immediately rinse the affected area thoroughly with water and seek medical assistance.
Identification of batteries that contain harmful substances:
The following symbols indicate the presence of harmful substances:
Pb = battery contains lead
Cd = battery contains cadmium
Hg = battery contains mercury
