When buying your blood pressure monitor, you should make sure that the device suits you. In addition to the right cuff size and the distinction between wrist and upper arm measurement, there are other purchase arguments.
Some of the Beurer devices are operated with the app Beurer HealthManager Pro, which ensures a seamless recording of your measurements.
If you have problems maintaining the rest period before measurement, a Beurer device with a rest indicator may be the right companion for you.
If you talk or move before the measurement, the results of the blood pressure measurement can be significantly distorted. Psychological stress or disturbances caused by radio or TV can also affect the measurement results.
To avoid this, the FIMT Asperg has developed rest indicator technology for Beurer. The patented rest indicator guarantees a precise blood pressure measurement by measuring the time intervals of the pulse beats. The blood pressure monitor determines whether the tested person is in an appropriate state of rest during the measurement based on the course of the pulse wave and its development.
The blood pressure measurement is carried out in the same way as with other blood pressure monitors. It is not extended by the additional value determination. A symbol provides information after each measurement as to whether the body was in sufficient mental and physical rest during the measurement.
Two different technologies are used in the Beurer upper arm measuring devices.
Inflation Technology
With inflation technology, the blood pressure monitor measures the blood pressure during inflation of the cuff and automatically determines how far the cuff needs to be inflated. The pressure is individually adjusted, and the measurement time is shortened. Many find this type of blood pressure measurement more comfortable.
Deflation Technology
With deflation technology, the blood pressure monitor measures when the cuff is deflating.
The built-in risk indicator in many Beurer blood pressure monitors makes the classification of the results easier to understand. The coloured scale directly indicates during the measurement whether your values are within the normal range or perhaps deviate and should be further observed.
The measurement results can be classified and evaluated according to the following table. However, these standard values are only a general guideline, as blood pressure varies among different people and different age groups etc. It is important that you consult your doctor at regular intervals. Your doctor will tell you your individual values for normal blood pressure and the value at which your blood pressure could be considered dangerous.
Most Beurer blood pressure monitors are equipped with the practical arrhythmia detection. If there are irregularities in the heart rhythm, the device indicates this with a symbol.
This can be an indicator of arrhythmia. Arrhythmia is a disease in which the heart rhythm is abnormal due to errors in the bioelectrical system that controls the heartbeat. The symptoms (missed or premature heartbeats, slow or too fast pulse) can be caused by heart disease, age, physical predisposition, excessive use of stimulants, stress or lack of sleep.
Arrhythmia can only be diagnosed by an examination by your doctor. Repeat the measurement if the symbol appears on the display after the measurement. Please make sure that you rest for 5 minutes and do not speak or move during the measurement. If the symbol appears often, please consult your doctor.
Beurer offers talking blood pressure monitors in its wide model range. The measured values are given to you acoustically in addition to the display on the screen. The volume is adjustable and the voice function can be switched off if needed. Beurer talking blood pressure monitors are the ideal companion for everyone.
