Air Purifiers
6 ArticlesBeurer air purifiers function according to the following principle
- Dirty ambient air is drawn in
- Filtering of larger particles such as dust, dirt and (animal) hairs through pre-filters
- Filtering of gases and odours through activated carbon filters
- Filtering of the smallest particles such as pollen, bacteria and viruses through HEPA filter
- Clean air flows back into the room
HEPA filter for particularly effective air cleaning
HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air) filters are a special type of air filter that filter particles out of the air. They are particularly effective against:
- Domestic dust
- Allergens
- Animal hair
- Odours
- Pollen
- Various bacteria
- Various viruses
- Harmful gases
All Beurer air purifiers feature a highly effective three-layer filter system with HEPA H13 filter. The fine, high-performance filter removes virtually everything that could endanger your health from the air.
Tests show:
A three-layer filter system with HEPA H13 filter1) filters out at least 95% of particles with a size of 0.02 μm (viruses are generally 0.02–0.3 μm in size).2)3)
For particles ≥ 0.3 µm in size, the filter performance is even up to 99.95%.

2) IUTA test in April 2020 on a test bench according to DIN 71460-1
3) For comparison: According to the German Federal Centre for Health Education, viruses are generally 0.02 – 0.3 µm in size (https://www.infektionsschutz.de/infektionskrankheiten/erregerarten/viren.html).
How do I find the right air purifier?
If you’re looking for an air purifier, the first thing to consider is what needs and requirements you have. Here is an overview of the features that can help you make the right choice:

The first and most straightforward difference between the air purifiers is the size of the room that they can cover. If you are looking for an air purifier for a large domestic kitchen, the air purifier should be suitable for the corresponding number of square metres. If you want to install the air purifier in a small home office space, a smaller and possibly cheaper device may be the right option for you.

If you’re looking to set up an air purifier in a bedroom or children’s room, you should opt for a particularly quiet device. Beurer air purifiers LR 400, LR 401 and LR 210, for example, feature a special night mode. In this mode, the air is cleaned particularly quietly, and the control panel is switched off so that your sleep is not disturbed.

Whether from the sofa, in the office or on the go: Air purifiers with app function allow you to control the air purifier from anywhere. With the Beurer LR 500 air purifier, for example, you can also set your own timers and monitor your ambient air using the app “beurer FreshHome”.

Fine airborne dust particles can travel into the bronchi and can cause conditions of the airways and lungs, as well as heart and circulatory problems. The fine dust enters the interior through open or permeable windows. Some Beurer air purifiers, such as the LR 401, are fitted with a fine dust sensor including automatic function. This monitors the air quality in the room and adjusts the cleaning level accordingly. The indoor air quality indicator shows you at a glance how clean your air is.
Air washer for cleaning and humidification
Air washers combine the functions of air humidifiers and air purifiers. Contaminated ambient air is sucked in by a quiet and energy-saving fan. The air flows over the humidification discs, which rotate continuously in the water and absorb moisture. Water acts as a natural filter and dust is removed from the supplied air. The particles sink to the bottom of the air washer. The cleaned and humidified air flows back into the room.
