BT pairing with iOS app no problem. But after a short period of use (max. 7 times), the batteries must be replaced. It doesn't matter whether they are branded batteries or rechargeable batteries.

High battery requirement

The scale measures with a repeat accuracy of approx. 500g.
The Bluetooth connection is very unreliable. Every morning the procedure recommended by the manufacturer (restart mobile phone, briefly remove batteries from the scale, remove device from the Bluetooth list, re-pair, ...) is regularly too time-consuming for me. The "measured values" that go beyond the weight are probably statistical values estimated from age, height, sporting activity and the measured weight as well as the measured resistance of the legs. It's a shame I bought the scales because of the advertised APP functions.

Bluetooth unreliable

Can only share the bad reviews for the Android app.
I don't understand why the data has to be stored in a cloud. Why can't this really personal data just be stored locally on the mobile phone? That's why I'm now using the scales without the app, even though that's the only reason I bought them (product test winner).

Product: BF 500 Super Black Edition

In my opinion, there is nothing wrong with the scales themselves. It makes a high-quality impression and, according to Stiftung Warentest, also measures quite accurately.
However, with the accompanying Android app, Beurer is risking its good reputation for offering quality products. When I bought the scale about a month ago, it took several attempts for the app to connect to the scale. What is striking here is that Beurer decided not to use the Bluetooth pairing system implementation from Android, but instead to contribute its own, obviously extremely unreliable, implementation. As I work in the field of embedded software development myself, I cannot understand this design decision, especially because Beurer should actually know from the review portals of the various retailers that this own implementation is obviously unreliable, as this problem is often reported. After several initial attempts, I was able to transfer the data for three weeks, only to suddenly receive error messages again when trying to synchronise without changing any Bluetooth settings on my device. The attempt to remove the scale from the app and add it again was also unsuccessful, as the app now generally hangs when trying to add the scale. I have now tried this several times on several Android devices without success.
The iOS app on my wife's phone doesn't seem to have this problem. This means that I can currently get by with transferring my data to the cloud on my wife's phone to get it from there to my own phone.
Beurer should therefore urgently improve the Android app, as almost every low-cost Asian provider offers a much better user experience.
