But I'm used to something different from Beurer (or was I???). After unpacking the device, I unfortunately discovered that it didn't work. No illuminated display, nothing, nada. I actually thought that there was quality control, but unfortunately it didn't "kick in" here. 
My problem is that I bought the device over 3 years ago and only just took it out now. I'm curious to see whether Beurer will be as accommodating as one would expect when using a new device for the first time – especially one that is advertised as being made in Germany....
