Product Design 2018: Beurer presented with a Red Dot Award

reddot Award 2018

The jury, made up of around 40 international design experts, have decided: after evaluating thousands of products submitted from a total of 59 countries, three Beurer devices have stood out. Due to their excellent design, the HC 30 hair dryer, the IH 60 nebuliser and the Velvet Skin Pro IPL device have been awarded the Red Dot Award, a globally renowned quality seal for design and innovation.

The HC 30 hair dryer – functional and stylish

The HC 30 not only ensures great looking hair, but it also makes for an eye-catching feature in the bathroom. The stylish matt black of the soft-touch surface is interspersed with high-quality chrome accents.

The IH 60 inhalation device – small, light and extremely quiet

Whereas traditional compressed-air nebulisers are often loud, particular attention was not only paid to form and function, but also to volume and weight during the development of the IH 60. The result is a very small, lightweight device that operates extremely quietly.

The IPL Velvet Skin Pro – a professional treatment for silky smooth skin

Smooth, supple skin for longer – the professional IPL device now easily makes this a reality at home. The IPL Velvet Skin Pro works with state-of-the-art light technology used by dermatologists and beauty salons for professional hair removal. In addition to clean, elegant lines, the product boasts safe operation, which can also be supported by the "beurer MyIPL" app.

n-Tv Mittelstandspreis Preisverleihung

Beurer achieved 2nd place in the "Brand" category of the "n-tv Hidden Champion 2017" prize for medium-sized companies (the "Mittelstandspreis"). Beurer Managing Director, Georg Walkenbach, was at the award ceremony in the 'Gesellschaftshaus' at the Palmengarten in Frankfurt am Main last Wednesday evening to accept the prize.

Beurer's success in the "Brand" category once again highlights the significance that this traditional company from Ulm is now gaining in the industry.

With over 500 products related to "health and well-being" for home use, Beurer offers a unique full range – from entry-level models through to high-end products.
n-tv produced a brief profile of Beurer for the award presentation, which can be viewed here: http://www.n-tv.de/mediathek/videos/wirtschaft/Beurer-article20134525.html

About the "n-tv Hidden Champion 2017" prize for medium-sized companies (the "Mittelstandspreis")

This is the seventh time that the German news broadcaster, n-tv, has selected Germany's best medium-sized companies that are leaders in their field. According to n-tv Managing Director Hans Demmel, the prizes are awarded to companies that have rendered outstanding services to contribute to the success of the German economy with their work. Applications are open to all owner-managed companies based in Germany that have at least 30 employees. All submissions are supplemented with the n-tv business editors' own research and reviewed by a panel of experts. The "n-tv Hidden Champion 2017" prize for medium-sized companies (the "Mittelstandspreis") is awarded in collaboration with the dfv Maleki Group and with the support of the BVMW (German Association for Small and Medium-sized Businesses).

Innovations to be proud of

For the seventh time in a row, in 2017 Beurer has been named the "Most Innovative Brand of the Year" by the Plus X Award. The participants who managed to win the most Plus X quality seals in their product group were honoured with this most prestigious award. This year, Beurer was also honoured as the "Best design brand" for the fourth time in a row. This special award is only awarded to one company per year and product group.

In February, a total of ten Beurer products were awarded the Plus X quality seal in the categories "Quality", "Design", "Ease of Use", "Innovation" and "Functionality". This gave the Ulm-based health expert enough seals to once again be named "Most Innovative Brand of the Year" in the "Health & Personal Care" product group. In the same product group, Beurer was also able to bring the award “Best design brand” back to Ulm as it was awarded multiple “Design” seals.

Plus X Award

At the IFA 2017, Donat Brandt, President of the Plus X Award, presented the winner's trophy for the "most innovative brand" to Beurer Head of Marketing Kerstin Glanzer. "We are delighted to have won this award. Standing out for numerous years in a row due to our consistently high quality, innovation and design is a great success and a nice reward for the whole Beurer team," commented Glanzer when receiving the two awards.
