MEDICA 2023: EC 70 SafePlus: for safer everyday living.

Ulm-based health specialist Beurer will present an emergency product at MEDICA which offers added safety in everyday situations, and is designed for users including elderly people and those with disabilities. The EC 70 SafePlus emergency wristband features fall detection to support the wearer living independently and facilitates help in case of emergency – at home and on-the-go!

The wrist-worn helper automatically notifies up to six emergency contacts in the event of a fall. This is possible because automatic fall detection and an emergency call function are integrated into the device. Up to six stored contacts are notified via a connection to the "caera" app. The wearer can also manually trigger an emergency response by pushing a button. What's more, the wearer does not need to have their own smartphone: the system just needs to be set up using a smartphone, for example one that belongs to a relative! Currently the "caera" app as well as the "NotfallPlus" subscription are available in Germany and Austria.

4 steps from emergency to rapid assistance
1. At the moment of emergency. As soon as a fall is automatically detected or the wearer presses the button to trigger an emergency response, the saved emergency contacts are notified.
2. Emergency contacts notified or "NotfallPlus" activated.
Up to six emergency contacts are simultaneously notified via the "caera" app.
If you do not have any emergency contacts nearby or if they are temporarily unavailable, we also offer the "NotfallPlus" subscription – a professional 24-hour emergency call service.
3. Wearer is contacted. The emergency contact can directly call the wristband via the app and talk to the person in need of help.
4. Rapid on-site assistance. The emergency contacts can use the "caera" app* to exchange information via chat and confirm safe status as required. During an emergency, the location of the wristband wearer is transmitted so that they can be easily found.

Modern alternative to an emergency button
Unlike traditional emergency call buttons, this mobile wristband can be used both at home and on-the-go, thanks to a built-in roaming SIM card and 2G mobile technology, and can also be located and called in case of emergency.

• Comfortable to wear: The wristband is made of medical silicone and is even comfortable enough to wear at night. It is waterproof (IP 67) and so does not need to be removed for showering and bathing.
• Easy to put on: The stainless steel folding clasp can be opened and closed with just one hand.
• Long battery life: The battery lasts up to 21 days; the battery reaches full power within 2 hours of charging. It is easy to insert the emergency wristband into the magnetic charging cradle. Updates are carried out automatically.
• A single emergency button with extensive functionality: Pressing the button triggers an emergency call to named emergency contacts or a professional emergency service. The button can be activated in different ways to check the battery level or the network quality. The device is also switched on and off using this button.
• LED display: LEDs indicate the current charge level during the charging process. During an emergency call, the LEDs indicate the transmission status by means of different colours.
