MEDICA 2018: Ovulation thermometer with app for state-of-the-art cycle tracking and natural family planning

The new Beurer ovulation thermometer, together with the app developed by the health tech start-up Ovy, open up entirely new possibilities for women who are planning a pregnancy or would like to track their monthly cycle. The state-of-the-art temperature measurement technology is able to calculate the ovulation day, fertile window and next period. This makes family planning child's play – without the need for hormones or expensive treatment. The ovulation thermometer and app will be presented at MEDICA from 12 to 15 November 2018.

Natural family planning has never been so easy! The Beurer OT 30 and OT 20 ovulation thermometers, together with the Ovy cycle tracking app, use the scientifically recognised symptothermal method to determine the fertile and non-fertile days. Various body signals including the basal temperature – i.e. your body temperature immediately after waking up and before getting up – are recorded each day in the app. To calculate the cycle as accurately as possible, influencing factors such as a lack of sleep, a fever or alcohol consumption should also be noted. The data is recorded digitally, which saves having to note the information down on paper, a previously time-consuming process in which mistakes were often made. This makes it even easier to interpret your body's signals correctly and feel more certain about your monthly cycle in the long term.

OT 30 – ovulation thermometer with Bluetooth®

The OT 30 ovulation thermometer can send temperature values to the Ovy app automatically using Bluetooth®. The measurement can be taken orally or vaginally using the flexible measuring tip. An acoustic signal sounds to indicate that the measurement is complete. The ovulation thermometer sets itself apart with its high measurement accuracy (±0.05°C in a measurement range of 35.00°C – 38.00°C at an ambient temperature of 18°C – 28°C). The OT 30 shows the values precisely to two decimal places in °C or °F. It is waterproof, can be disinfected and has 30 memory spaces.

OT 20 – the classic ovulation thermometer

Beurer offers the OT 20 ovulation thermometer as an entry-level model. Its measurement accuracy is the same as the OT 30 (±0.05°C in a measurement range of 35.00°C – 38.00°C at an ambient temperature of 18°C – 28°C) and it can be used with the Ovy app. The measurements are taken orally or vaginally using the flexible measuring tip and entered into the app manually. The display shows the values precisely to two decimal places in °C. The OT 20 is waterproof, can be disinfected and has a memory space.

Further information about the new ovulation thermometers is available at MEDICA in Düsseldorf from 12 to 15 November 2018 at the Beurer stand in Hall 10, Stand D20.
