Not exactly cheap, but well worth the money

Attractive design, everything works perfectly, we are very satisfied with our purchase.

Unfortunately, this daylight lamp disappointed me. On the first day, it only worked normally for about 20 minutes, after which it began to constantly switch between brightness levels or flicker and could no longer be used.
On the second day, the same problem occurred again, and on the third day it started immediately after switching on.
There can be no question of a service life here - the lamp was practically unusable from the start.

Defective from the start

The light surface is sufficiently large, but despite its size, the lamp is still easy to carry. It stands on a really stable and sturdy and visually attractive aluminium base, which seems to be very much inspired by iMacs. This is certainly not cheap to manufacture and you can tell that Beurer didn't want to make any compromises here, which I very much welcome. The hole in the base makes it very easy to hold and carry the device. The long and detachable cable is also very pleasing, even if I would have liked 50 cm more cable length. The two sensor buttons are very easy to operate once you realise that a light swipe over the buttons works much better than just tapping them (a corresponding note in the operating instructions would perhaps be helpful for some people). The light is bright, but I would have preferred 3000 lux more. The Christmas special offer price of just under €180 for direct purchase prompted me to buy another daylight light (TL 30). The power consumption is still pleasantly low at max. 60 W thanks to LED technology. I don't really like LED light and prefer the good old light bulb and halogen light with true colour rendering (colour rendering index CRI 100). This is particularly because of the usually rather unnatural colour rendering of "energy-saving lamps" and LEDs and the typical flickering, which unfortunately has a negative effect on our subconscious. However, this daylight lamp seems to be different. I am not in a position to judge whether it flickers (it is below the perception threshold). Beurer writes that this is not the case and I trust Beurer here. The colour rendering of CRI >95 is also unusually good for LEDs ("full spectrum LEDs", "natural light spectrum close to daylight"). The only thing that gives me pause for thought is that, at 10,000 hours, the service life of the LEDs is just ten times that of a typical light bulb. This seems a little short to me, especially as there are LED light sources with an expected service life of 30,000 to 50,000 hours. There is still some room for improvement in future lights. At least you can send the device to Beurer and have the LEDs replaced, although this is likely to be quite expensive. However, if you only use this light alone and only for about 1-2 hours and a maximum of six months per year, you should be able to get through at least 20-25 years without changing the LED bulbs. At least you can change the bulbs at all, as you know, this does not apply to most LED lamps, so everything has to be thrown away, which for me is a no-go. All in all: a clear recommendation to buy, especially at this special offer price. I sincerely wish the Beurer family business all the best in these extremely challenging economic and political times.

Best purchase in years

I bought the TL 95 because my depression gets worse in autumn/winter due to the lack of sun. It's a nice size and I've been using it for almost 2 weeks now. After the 2nd treatment I already felt a clear improvement in the severe tiredness in the morning due to my fatigue. I use it for 30 minutes at a distance of 20 cm and also several times a day at a greater distance when I feel tired. I also notice a clear improvement in my mood after the first 2 weeks.
The purchase was a very good choice!
I have high hopes that the TL 95 will get me through the winter feeling fitter and more active.
